Fairchild, WI; July 15, 2010 – Saturday night should be an eventful night at Marshfield Motor Speedway!  With the Mid American Series doing their Northern stop, and the always exciting Midwest Modifieds invited to race at the speedway, fans are sure to be treated to some exciting racing.  When asked about the Midwest Modifieds, track GM/Promoter Wayne Brevik stated, “I watch them every week on dirt and thought it would be a good addition to the speedway, especially for our loyal fans.”  Brevik also stated that he plans to have them back for the Fall Shootout, and add them to the schedule more often in 2011!  Saturday’s show for the Midwest Modifieds will be an open tire rule.  Also making their appearance for the first time in several years will be the Mid American Series.  This special event will include local drivers such as Brian Back, Matt Pyburn, and Lyle Nowak.  Brevik stated that his decision on bringing the Mid American Series back to Marshfield was based on their professionalism as a series.  Fans will also be treated to something different at the speedway, Race Car Bowling!  Bandit drivers will have the opportunity to use their cars to play this game, at intermission.  Gates open at 4pm with qualifying at 5pm, and racing at 6:30pm.

Fairchild, WI; July 3, 2010 – With temperatures soaring in the upper 80’s and not a cloud in the sky, it was a glorious day for some hot racing action, here today, at Marshfield Motor Speedway. With 28 Super Late Models vying for the top spot in the Central Wisconsin Challenge Series Championships – Earth Inc. 80-lap feature event, it was evident it would keep the large crowd on the edge of their seats. Motorcycles, 4-Cylinders, Junkyard Warriors, and Bandits also highlighted the evening’s festivities. Topping off the evening was one of the best fireworks displays ever scene in Central Wisconsin!

With over 30 children in the greeting line to send off the super late model drivers with well wishes, it was a start of the event that wouldn’t be forgotten. Unable to take the green flag today was star driver Mark Eswein. Eswein’s car started afire in practice earlier in the day. Mark was able to walk away, however, is racecar sustained heavy damage. Our well wishes go out to Mark and his entire race team. Also unable to take the green flag was Parker May who was involved in an accident in heat racing. Leading the 26-car field to the green flag was gentleman driver Don “Thunder” Turner of La Crosse, WI. Turner held off Brandon Selle for a couple of laps. Selle took over the race lead on lap 3 and kept that spot for a handful of laps, that was when a very fast Neil Knoblock charged to the front. Knoblock built a nice lead over Selle by lap 13, however, Patrick Barrett through the caution flag for a spin in turn one by Thunder Turner. Bryan Reffner got into the backside of Turner sending both drivers to the rear of the field. On the restart, point leader Jeremy Lepak took over second, bringing Chad Selk with him. Selk appeared to have a very fast racecar today as he roared to the front in a hurry. Unfortunately, Selk started to fade gradually as the race progressed with left front suspension problems. Moving up to the second position on lap 25 was Bangor’s Steve Holzhausen. On lap 30 of the 80-lap CWCSC feature event, Holzhausen would inherit the lead as Neil Knoblock dropped off the pace with brake failure. This was very unfortunate, as it appeared Knoblock had the car to beat today! With Steve Holzhausen cruising out front, Merrill’s Chris Weinkauf, in a Ed Holms prepared car, took over the runner-up spot with Lepak running third. On lap 55, things went South for Holzhausen as the leader of the race had to park his car due to overheating. Inheriting the lead was Weinkauf, with Lepak taking over second, and fast qualifier Eugene Gregorich taking over the third position. With Chris Weinkauf building a sizable lead, it appeared the best race would be for second between Jeremy Lepak and Eugene Gregorich. The two gentlemen driver battled nose to tail for numerous laps. Moving up from his 18^th starting position to the fourth spot was Bloomer, WI driver Ronnie Rihn. Rihn, who of which is only in his second year of super late model racing, worked his way through the field like an experienced veteran driver. Rihn has already earned his first career feature win this year, under the direction of crew chief Chad Wood. Once the checkered flag flew, it was all Chris Weinkauf as he cruised to yet another feature win in the 2010 race season. Holding off a hard charging Eugene Gregorich and finishing second, was Jeremy Lepak. With Gregorich finishing third, Ronnie Rihn and Skylar Holzhausen rounded out the top five.

Lepak added to his point lead with one race remaining in the three-race series. It appears the championship may come down to Lepak and Chris Weinkauf, at the finale at Golden Sands Speedway on August 6^th.

FAN GATES OPEN AT 4PM WITH QUALIFYING AT 5PM AND RACING AT 6:30 PM. GATE ADMISSION IS $15 FOR ADULTS, $8 FOR STUDENTS 9-13 $8, AND CHILDREN 8 AND UNDER ARE FREE.
