Former NASCAR Stars Sauter/Wimmer Late Entries into WCS 80
Former Nascar stars Tim Sauter and Chris Wimmer are late entries into this Saturday’s Nasonville Dairy/Weber’s Farm Store Wiconsin Challenge Series race at Marshfield Motor Speedway. Sauter, a Necedah native, will be driving a car prepared by Deon Deneau, his former crew chief from Canada. “Jay VanDerGeest has graciously allowed us to run his number 23 super late model”, states Sauter. When asked by track promoter Wayne Brevik what his favorite racing moments are, Sauter stated,”probably when my father Jim and brothers Jay, Johnny, and I participated together in a race at the Milwaukee Mile.” Sauter further stated that winning the 1999 ASA Championship ranked right up there as exciting moments. Sauter, who will be sponsored by Westside Auto in Auburndale, has a wife Chris, and sons Travis, Tyler, and Benny. Travis, who also races, will be joining his father, in an attempt to cross the finishline first Saturdayat Marshfield.
Chris Wimmer will also be piloting a super late model Saturday at Marshfield Motor Speedway. Wimmer, will be appearing in a Clint Sillars prepared car. Fresh off his ASA win at Iowa Super Speedway, Wimmer has hopes of adding the Nasonville Dairy/Weber’s Farm Store 80 lap WCS race to his resume of wins. Wimmer, who calls Wausau, Wisconsin home, is a former Nascar Nationwide and Truck Series driver. In his free time, Wimmer enjoys hunting and fishing with his friends.
Pit gates open at noon Saturday with practice beginning at 1:30, qualifying at 3:30, autograph session at 5:00-5:45, with racing beginning at 6:00 pm. Joining the WCS stars and cars, will be the 4-Cylinders, MotorCycles, and Junkyard Warriors. Fan gates open at 1:00 pm. with admission, a fan friendly $12 per adult, $6 for children ages 10-15, and children 9 and under are admitted free. Marshfield Motor Speedway is located 3 miles West of Marshfield on County Road H.
