Marshfield Motor Speedway Prepares for Fall Shootout

Marshfield, WI; September 1, 2010 – Fans will be treated to a special weekend of racing at the Annual Fall Shootout at Marshfield Motor Speedway (WI).  “With thirteen divisions racing, it should prove to be a very exciting weekend for the race fans”, says track GM/Promoter Wayne Brevik.  The weekend kicks off on Friday with an organized practice and post practice party in the Speedway Bar.  Saturday, September 11th, the racing begins with Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Quick Club USA “Race For Hunger” Legends, Motorcycles, Cruisers, Junkyard Warriors, and Bandits.  There was a scheduling change, as the 4-Cylinders and Super Stocks were moved from Saturday to Sunday, as the Legend Series had a scheduling conflict.  Sunday, September 12th, the Yellow River Racing Series Super Late Models will take to the track.  Stratford, WI driver Mark Kraus currently holds down the top spot in points, however, with Twin 50-Lap Features, anyone of 8 drivers could still take the championship home!  Joining the Super Late Models will be the CWSSA Super Stocks, Sportsman, 4-Cylinders, Midwest Modified, and Pure Stocks.

One team this year, will be awarded a Sportsmanship Award which will go out to the team that best represents themselves throughout the weekend.  Also, there will be an Award for the best looking Car & Team within the Super Late Models.  These awards will be presented at intermission of Sunday’s festivities.

Saturday’s Super Late Model racing will be for drivers not yet qualified into Sunday’s Twin 50’s.  Saturday’s fast qualifier and the top 4 finishers of Saturday’s feature will advance to Sunday’s Twin 50’s.  The balance of the field for Sunday’s Yellow River Racing Series Twin 50’s will be filled by a last chance race on Sunday.  Drivers that have qualified by winning a SLM feature or earning a fast time award in Wisconsin or Norway, Michigan, automatically qualify for Sunday’s features.  The following drivers have qualified but have yet to commit are:

Mark Mackesy, Mark Eswein, Jeremy Lepak, Chris Weinkauf, Clint Sillars, Chris Wimmer, Tim Sauter, Andy Monday, Kyle Calmes, Frank Kreyer, Jeff Van Oudenhoven, Terry Baldry, Kevin Eggert, Darren Jackson, Cardell Potter, Brandon Selle, Jim Sauter, Jr., Chad Selk, Jeff Weinfurter, Don Turner, Jay VanDerGeest, Ross Kenseth, Jason Weinkauf, MG Gajewski, Neil Knoblock, Eugene Gregorich, Ronnie Rihn, Steve Holzhausen, Mark Kraus, Troy Nelson, Mike Reichenberger, Gene Colemen, Jamie Iverson, Tom Lindquist, Steve Carlson, Dennis Prunty, Lowell Bennett, Mike Egan, Steve Apel, and Jeff Holtz.  UPDATE: DRIVERS IN BOLD HAVE SINCE COMMITTED TO SUNDAY’S TWIN 50’S.

The Quick Club USA “Race For Hunger” Legend cars should also provide much excitement for the Marshfield fans.  With nearly 30-cars expected, series director Denny Barleau states, “the fans at Marshfield are in for some real excitement as these drivers from multiple states will race 4 & 5 wide.”  Fans bringing in two non-perishable food items on Saturday, will receive a free fountain drink and hotdog.  Also, fans will be treated to a celebrity race between the local radio & television stations!

Fans, don’t miss out on this end of the season spectacular racing event.  There will be much excitement for the entire family.  Free rough camping is provide as first come, first served.  Sunday morning, fans will be offered a pancake, sausage, & eggs breakfast starting at 7:30 am.  Check our website out frequently to see what drivers have pre-entered, and for further updates.
