RICK BRANDL NOTCHES X-TREME 4’S WIN!  KARL GENETT POCKETS $1050 IN PURE STOCK FEATURE!

Marshfield, WI, (August 24, 2013) – With championship point battles tightening up and warm late summer weather, fans had the perfect atmosphere for some great racing, here tonight, at Marshfield Motor Speedway.

Eau Claire, WI driver Ben Pettis got his night off to a great start as he tripped the clock fastest in Super Late Model qualifying with a lap time of 18. 211 seconds.  Once the super late model feature took to the track, Cory Kemkes and Dean LaPointe led the field to the green flag.  LaPointe would lead the first 3 laps, then LaPoint and Kemkes would trade leading the next few laps.  Once the two drivers exited turn two on lap six, Kemkes and LaPointe made contact sending the two drivers into, and over the turn three banking.  Both drivers were able to continue with minimal damage to their stock cars.

Once the feature event went back green, it was Ryan Hinner grabbing the top spot with Mark Eswein in Hinner’s rear view mirror.  Point leader Eugene Gregorich, Jr. moved into the third position by lap 12 with a pass on fast heat winner Mike Gajewski.  With Ryan Hinner holding a comfortable lead over Eswein, it was Gregorich moving in on Eswein, looking for the runner up position.  With Eswein and Gregorich doing battle, it was Ben Pettis and Chad Selk battling for the fourth position.  Pettis finally cleared Selk on lap 31 of the 35 lap event.  Gregorich edged by Hinner for the runner up position, but tonight, it was all Ryan Hinner.  The Stevens Point, WI driver put his #23 super late model in victory lane for the first time in his career.  As he climbed out of his car, and with a big smile on his face, the Marshfield fans cheered loudly for Hinner as they knew he finally notched his first career feature win!

Lee Gray and Cody Thompson led the drivers to the green flag event with $1050 going to the winner. Kyle Genett would grab the early lead from his fourth starting position.  Genett would receive heavy pressure from Nick Erickson, Jr., but Genett was able to fight off the challenge.  On lap 17, Kyle Genett had someone else knocking at his door for the top spot, it was his brother, Karl Genett!  One lap later, Karl was able to grab the top spot from Kyle with an outside pass through turn two.  Karl Genett built up a nice lead over his brother Kyle, and fast timer Dave Lashua.  Lashua over took Kyle Genett one lap later for the runner up spot.  Lashua started to close on Karl Genett slightly, however, it was apparent  Lashua used up his right rear tire, and faded slightly.  With Karl Genett enjoying a nice lead, the driver that looked to be closing significantly was Kevin Berg.  Berg, took over second with five laps remaining and cut into the lead of Genett.  However, once flagman Geno Eckes through the checkered flag, it was Karl Genett driving to victory lane and pocketing a cool $1050 payday!  With Berg finishing second, it was Dave Lashua, Nick Erickson, Jr., and Kyle Genett rounding out the top five.
