Wisconsin Challenge Series Invades Marshfield

Posted under News by Wayne Brevik on June 9th, 2009

The Wisconsin Challenge Series stars and cars will appear this Saturday night at Marshfield Motor Speedway. Mark Eswein holds a slim 15 point lead over Marshfield Motor Speedway star, Chris Weinkauf. Weinkauf will be looking to knock Eswein from the top spot in WCS points as he certainly knows the fast way around Marshfield’s speedway. Bangor’s Steve Holzhausen and Wausau’s Jeremy Lepak also know the fast way around the track. Both drivers have won WCS races at Marshfield Motor Speedway. Other drivers to keep an eye on touring around the 1/2 mile paved oval are, Mark Mackesy, Jason Weinkauf, Kenny Reiser, Jeff Weinfurter, Eugene Gregorich, and track champion, Tim Hintz. With a large field of cars expected, promoter Wayne Brevik expects this race to be one of the best ever ran at the track. Brevik also states that with so many drivers running about the same speed, anyone of 15 drivers could easily win the second of five challenge series events. “If Dean LaPointe, or sophomore sensation Chad Selk continue to set fast paced laps, they could easily end up in victory lane”, further states Brevik. General Manager/Promoter Wayne Brevik is also expected to announce the possibility of of a former NASCAR star making his presence at the speedway’s WCS event. Brevik expects other stars such as Tim Rothe, Darek Gress, MG Gajewski, Don Turner, Brandon Selle, Skylar Holzhausen, Kenny Richards, and Rory Melbinger, to make their run at the podium as well.

The Nasonville Dairy & Weber’s Farm Store 80 lap Super Late model feature will highlight the evening’s festivities. Point leader Jeremiah Strauss will lead the 4-Clylinders, Tim Anderson will lead the way in the Junkyard Warriors, and Steve Kasten and Cliff Eckes will circuit the paved oval on their motorcycles, fulfilling an exciting night of races!
