Haseleu Grabs Marshfield MARS Checkered
June 8, 2002; Marshfield, WI: – Nathan Haseleu squeezed past Eric Fransen on lap 81 and raced to victory in the Planet Pages Midwest AllStar 100 Saturday night at the Marshfield Speedway.
Fransen and Haseleu battled door-to-door much of the way before the largest paid crowd of the season at the track. Fast qualifier Terry Baldry was running with the leaders, but dropped out with a flat right front tire on lap 71.
Jeff Weinfurter moved past Haseleu on the 88th lap, but could not catch Haseleu, a former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitor, Weinfurter finished second with Fransen third. Mark Eswein, who won two Midwest AllStar events at the speedway in 2000, came home in fourth in a strong run from the rear of the 20-car starting field. Tony Strupp and Gary Back rounded out the top six.
The win for Haseleu was his first ever in a Planet Pages Midwest AllStar Series race. It was also his first ever victory at the Marshfield Speedway. Haseleu was the series point leader coming into the event with his Trucks, Inc. sponsored Pontiac Grand Prix.
Rich Loch led the opening seven laps before Fransen went inside to take over the number one position. Seven-time Rockford Speedway champion John Knaus took over second position on lap 11, going outside of Loch. Jeff Storm spun in turn three on lap 14 to bring out the first caution flag. Fransen had built up a sizeable lead, but it was gone as the race resumed, Weinfurter, Haseleu and Baldry all motored inside of Knaus during laps 21 and 22. Haseleu went inside Weinfurter for second position on lap 32. Haseleu then moved up on Fransen. As the two leaders battled for the lead a 13-car freight train formed at the front of the pack. Haseleu tried the inside lane, lap after lap and finally went to the outside of Fransen on lap 81.

Bill Prietzel zooms to Planet Pages super truck feature
Bill Prietzel went outside Mark Eberhart with three laps remaining and won the 30-lap Planet Pages Super Truck Series feature race Saturday night at the Marshfield Speedway.
It was the second year in-a-row that Prietzel won the touring super truck feature on the half-mile Marshfield track with the Heiser Trailer Chevrolet. Eberhart, in one of his best series finishes ever, claimed second place ahead of Andy Jirik, Art Christoffersen, Jerry Seibel and Gary Fredrickson.
Jirik and Eddie Muenster battled for the early lead before Munester drifted high in turn four. Eberhart moved into second place and then roared past Jirk to take over the lead on lap six. Muenster clipped the front stretch wall and exploded a right front tire on lap eight to bring out the caution flag.
Christoffersen moved into second and held it until lap 28 when Prietzel used the outside groove to take over the spot. Christoffersen and Prietzel touched coming off turn two, which allowed Jirik to sneak past into second position, Prietzel wiggled past Jirik and Christoffersen on lap 32 and passed Eberhart five laps later.

Josh Elmhorst was quick timer in the Cruiser feature and ran up front most of the feature event. Wayne Meyer took the lead on the start and led all but the last two laps of the feature. On the white flag lap he was overtaken by Rodney Feltz for the win. Elmhorst finished second, Meyer third, Brendan Klueckman fourth and Josh Bell fifth.
