June 21, 2008; Marshfield, WI: – The A&B Process Systems and 107.5FM night at the races take two turned out to be a great race night. During Miller Lite time trials, Jason Weinkauf picked up the super late model quickest lap. Mark Zeidler was the fastest motorcycle of 17 in qualifying and in his heat, but a tumble in the feature prevented him from finishing the race. Ryan Mork in the pure stocks and Kyle Rasmussen in the junkyard warriors took home their first clean sweeps of the season.

A sit on your edge seat was the feature race of the super late models. Tim Hintz took the early lead from his pole position start. From the back of the field to the front raced Eugene Gregorich Jr., Chris Weinkauf and Jason Weinkauf, fast qualifier. Behind Hintz, Rory Melbinger took over the second spot from AJ Kania. Justin Switlick overtook Melbinger on lap five for second from his sixth place start. Justin Switlick started behind his brother in the eighth position used the outside groove to work his way to the front. By lap seven Gregorich gained the fifth position, working his way to the front on the inside. The Switlicks were pressuring Hintz for the lead lap after lap. Lap 14, Justin Switlick took the lead from Hintz. As the field rounded turns three and four to complete lap five, Hintz and Gregorich made contact causing a caution. The two re-started the race at the rear. Jason Weinkauf chose the inside behind leader Justin Switlick, while Jeremy Switlick took the outside of Weinkauf for the re-start. For several laps it was a three car battle for the lead with Chris Weinkauf, Dean LaPointe and Jay VanDerGeest vying for the remaining top five spots. With five to go, Jeremy Switlick used the outside to take the lead from Justin Switlick. Jason Weinkauf made the pass stick for second at the white flag. Jeremy Switlick won, earning the Krings Motorsports of Arpin feature win award. Jason Weinkauf second, Justin Switlick third, Chris Weinkauf fourth and LaPointe fifth.

Special thanks to Jay VanDerGeest Cattle and Hartlebens’ Custom Cropping Service for sponsoring the additional super late model payout for the season.

The field of 17 cycle riders put on a barnburner of a show in both the heat races and feature. First heat winner Craig Lewis of Granton worked his way through the pack fending off newcomer Bob Fedrowitz of Marshfield for the win. In the second heat fast timer Mark Zeidler came through the snarling two wheeled warriors for the win; backing up his recent dominance. But that was all to end in the 10 lap feature as he and fellow rider Troy Johnson tangled exiting turn two and tumbled off the track in a snarl of flying motorcycles and bodies. Zeidler escaped with minor damage to his body but his motorcycle was done for the night. Troy Johnson took a precautionary trip to the hospital to get checked out. A full restart saw the ageless veteran from Hatley; Steve Kasten out front and flying; with the threesome of Kyle Meier of Escanaba, Lee Johnson of Big Falls and Marshfield’s Cliff Eckes Jr. in a slugfest over positions two through four. The race ended with Kasten reaching the checkered flag first and Lee Johnson putting in a very impressive ride to second over Meiers and Eckes.
