November 3, 2002; Marshfield, WI: - A ten foot wide strip of asphalt 300 feet long was added to the back straightaway of the track today. The track was widened out to help keep drivers from being forced off the edge of the track into the sand.

New asphalt is laid in place for the start of the 2003 racing season.

The two thirds of the track that were not re-paved in 1999, front and back straightaways and turns three and four, were intended to be re-paved this fall. However, due to weather conditions, that was impossible. It is expected to be completed in May of 2003 or as soon as the weather permits in 2003.
