A moment of silence was taken to remember Super Stock racer Merle Weinfurter who passed away the week prior. A special presentation was made to the Weinfurter family from track photographer Tom Loos.

Marshfield Super Speedway would like to thank all the sponsors of the Super Late Model point fund. Especially CarQuest, Coca-Cola, Lang Lumber, Goodyear, Five Star Bodies, Bassett Racing Wheels and Beway Race Products. Without their tremendous help we would be unable to maintain our own point fund.

Rory Melbinger added a second Super Late Model championship to his titles. Melbinger won the championship back in 1999 and was Rookie of the Year in 1996. This was another triumph to add to the many he has earned over the years here at the speedway.

The 2002 Super Late Model Rookie of the Year was awarded to Russ Weiler. Weiler started racing on the asphalt here in the Legends division and continued to race that division as well this year, claiming second.

The Super Stock top title went to Tim Hintz. Hintz also won the CWSSA Championship this year.

Don Tieman Jr. won the 2002 Super Stock Rookie of the Year award. Tieman moved up from the Cruiser division and ended up ninth in overall Super Stock points.

The Legends raced nine events this year. Josh Schoenick beat Russ Weiler for the win the night of the championship by only three points. It was a close battle that went back and forth throughout the championship night.

The 4-Cylinder division champion was Keith Wirtz. Wirtz won with 38 points over Doug Adams in second place. John Froelich finished third.

The champion of the Bumper-To-Bumper Cruiser division was Josh Elmhorst. Elmhorst and Travis Zvolena who ended up second, battled for the top points spot all season.

Congratulations to all the drivers that raced at Marshfield Super Speedway in 2002.

The 2003 Season will open in April 2003 with weekly Saturday night racing.
