May 11, 2002; Marshfield, WI: - This weekend's racing events sponsored by Sternweis & Sons Concrete and Block and Z104 were cancelled due to inclement weather.
Although there was no racing action, some of the track improvements were completed this past week. The front row parking in the pits now includes 18 concrete slabs that are for sale by the year. This coming week a second row of 18 slabs in the center of the pits will be added. Once all 36 slabs are rented out by the season, the area between the rows will be blacktopped so that anyone renting a slab will not have to drive onto any gravel in the pit area. Next week is our second free night of four this season. Grandstand admission is free with a minimum $1.00 to NTAF in Honor of Jason's Heart Transplant. Jason is a member of the Marshfield community and works at the Marshfield Clinic. Pit gates open at 3:30, Grandstand gates 5 p.m., time trials 6 p.m. and racing 7:30. Memorial weekend includes a Truck Pull on Saturday, May 25. Pit gates open at 10 a.m. and pulling at 2 p.m. Grandstand admission is $5.00 adults, $3.00 students 10-15, and under 10 is free with an adult. Sunday, May 26, we are hosting our first ever Wisconsin Challenge Series event, sponsored by TJ's and 8th Street Auto. Pit gates open 2:30, Grandstand gates 4 p.m., qualifying 5 p.m. and racing 6:30.
