April 7, 2001; Marshfield, WI: - The practice scheduled for Saturday, April 6th was postponed to Friday, April 12th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The WIFC Season Opener is scheduled for the following day, Saturday, April 13th. For the third consecutive year, grandstand admission for the opener will be free. This year a minimum $1.00 donation is requested with the proceeds benefiting Cancer Research. Record crowds have attended the past two years and with anticipation of another record crowd, owner Jim Langreck has installed extra bleachers for an additional 1,000 seats. Also to help draw cars for the first night, the Super Late Model feature pays $1,000.00 to win. The weekly purse has also been raised to help increase the Super Late Model field. The point fund for those Super Late Models completing 75% of the points shows is $3,000 to win, $2,000 for second, $1,000 for third and a minimum $500 to those fourth on back. Saturday the pit gates open at 3:30, grandstand gates 5 p.m., time trials 6 p.m. and racing 7:30. |
