The Mid-States Touring Series of Limited Late Models made its first appearance at the speedway tonight with 15 teams. AJ Miller and Tom Gee won their respective heat races.

The Limited Late Model feature saw only two different leaders, but their was plenty of action behind them. Jeremy Switlick led the first lap with his brother Justin Switlick second. Larry Olson quickly took second from Justin Switlick on the next lap. The first caution flew on lap four for the spun car of Brent Zastrow. Contact had been made between Zastrow and Justin Woller, sending both drivers the back of the field.

On the restart, Switlick held the lead, Olson second, Switlick third, Miller fourth and Tom Gee fifth. Miller and Gee, both quickly moving up, passed Switlick for the third and fourth positions. Lap eight, Bo Bennish got by Switlick for the fifth spot. Lap ten, a horrendous crash involving Justin Switlick and Justin Woller. Both cars left the backstretch, but Woller's went airborne and flipped, then started on fire. Both drivers are okay, but neither were able to continue the race. When the race resumed, Gee began his challenge for the lead, picking off spots until on lap 20, he passed Switlick for the lead. Neil Knoblock also moved through the field from his tenth place start into fifth on lap 20. Gee won the first ever Mid-State Touring Series feature, Olson second, Knoblock moved up to third, Jeremy Switlick fourth and Bennish fifth.

Following the Limited feature was the CWSSA Super Stock feature, which unfortunately at lap ten the race was cautioned due to rain. At the time of the caution, Randy Meyer led, Randy Emmerich second, Cale Laessig third, Travis Zvolena fourth and Larry Schultz fifth. The final ten laps will be completed next Saturday night as the first racing event. The entire Super Late Model feature from this week will also be run next Saturday, following the completion of the Super Stocks feature. The 2-Man Cruiser race will not be made up, drivers and gas persons may use their pit passes the next time they race.

Next Saturday's races are sponsored by American Asphalt. Racing includes CARQUEST Super Late Models (double features), CARQUEST Super Stocks (double features), 4-Cylinders & 1-Man Cruisers. Pit Gate opens at 3:30, Grandstand Gates 5 p.m., Time Trials 6 p.m. and Racing 7:30. Saturday's race is raindated for Sunday Same Times.
