Weinfurters Take Super Late & Super Stock Feature Wins!

July 9, 2005; Marshfield, WI: - Tonight was the 2005 Pace Car sponsor night honoring V&H
Inc., WDEZ, Abby Gas Service, Rainbow Casino, Subway, CarQuest Burt Trophy & Awards
and Crafts Trading Center for making the giveaway of the 2005 Mustang possible. The car will be given away on September 17, 2005. Brian Back took top qualifying honors in the
CarQuest Super Late Model division. Travis
Zvolena scored his first CarQuest Super Stock quick time.
Paul Berg was fast timer in the 4-Cylinders and Pat Dickman was quick in the
1-Man Cruisers.
The first five laps of the CarQuest Super Late Model
feature were led by John Totzke Jr. Jeff
Weinfurter then took the lead as point leader Ben Pettis worked his way to the front of
the field and began to chase him down on lap 12. Blake
Horstman, Chris Weinkauf and Brian Back all drove through traffic to the front by the
midway point. Weinfurter was able to hold the
lead for the win, with Pettis, Horstman, Weinkauf and Back finishing out the top five.
The first couple of CarQuest Super Stock feature laps were led by
Chad Scholl. Andy Simonis then grabbed the
lead. The top five all ran tight for position. With only five laps left, Bo Bennish passed Travis
Zvolena on the outside to take third. Brian
Weinfurter made his move for the on the inside and took it for the white flag lap. Weinfurter took the checkers first, Simonis
with mechanical difficulties was unable to finish the race.
Bennish picked up second, Zvolena third, Scholl fourth and Wes Coon fifth.
The 4-Cylinder feature saw three lead changes. Jeremiah Strauss led the first lap, Steve Hauser
the next three and then Adam Eckes took charge. Eckes
led the field the rest of the feature winning his first ever. Hauser finished second, Erin Schlough third, Steve
Stewart fourth and Paul Berg fifth.
Cody Meyer led the first few laps of the 1-Man Cruiser feature but
was unable to fend off Pat Dickman. Dickman
won, Meyer second, Dave Knauf third, Wayne Dietz fourth and Nick Carolfi fifth.
Next Saturday, July 16, is the Wisconsin Challenge Series Super Late
Model Special sponsored by Thomas Electric Service, Earth Inc., and 104.1 The Blaze. The WI Challenge Series will feature an 80 lap
feature plus a full show of 4-Cylinders and 1-Man Cruisers.
Pits open at 2 p.m., stands 5 p.m., time trials at 6 p.m. and racing at
7:30. Rain dated for Sunday, two hours
earlier. Marshfield Super Speedway is located
3.5 miles west of Marshfield on County Road H with weekly Saturday night stock car racing
April through September. Adult grandstand
admission $12.00, Students ages 10-15 yrs. $6.00 and under 10 yrs FREE with a parent. Family Ticket is $30.00 (includes 2 adult tickets +
unlimited students & children).
