Knoblock Wins Second Feature

& Sons Concrete night at the races hosted a 40-lap Limited Late Model feature won by
Neil Knoblock. Knoblock picked up his second
feature win here in two weeks. Bo Bennish in
the Super Stock division was fast timer and won the feature.
Kevin Eckes won his first feature this season in the 4-Cylinders. Cody Meyer with his fourth clean-sweep in the 1-Man
Cruiser division.
The
first of the Mid-State Touring Series Limited Late Model races at Marshfield Super
Speedway hosted a 40-lap feature. With 35 laps
remaining Justin Switlick took the lead. Knoblock
was on the move and took the outside groove to make the pass on Switlick. With 27 laps left, Knoblock completed his pass to
take the lead. Switlick continued to hold his
line in the second position as Justin Woller raced to the front looking to advance. With 17 to go, Woller passed Switlick for second. Kyle Bauknecht raced from the back of the field and
broke into the top five with 13 to go. Bauknecht
began working on Jeremy Switlick for the fourth spot and took it from him with ten laps
left. Bauknecht continued to advance and
grabbed the third spot from Justin Switlick. Knoblock
led the field to his second victory in a row here at the half-mile. Woller picked up second, Bauknecht third, Justin
Switlick fourth and Jeremy Switlick fifth.
Travis
Zvolena took a strong lead of the Super Stock feature and was looking to pick up his first
feature win. Andy Simonis however also wanting
the victory took the lead at the halfway point. Fast
timer Bo Bennish flew from the back to the front with his sites also on that lead. With only six laps remaining of the 20-lap feature
Bennish took charge. Simonis held his own in
second with track champ Cale Laessig taking the third spot from Zvolena. Brian Weinfurter passed Zvolena for the fourth spot
on lap 17. Randy Emmerich grabbed the fifth
spot on the white flag lap. Bennish won his
second feature in a row, Simonis second, Laessig third, Weinfurter fourth and Emmerich
fifth.
The first
lap of the 15 lap 4-Cylinder contest was led by Erin Schlough. Kevin Eckes then took the lead for the win. Don Dunow ran a hard race, coming from the back and
taking the second position on the white flag lap. Dale
Louze who ran strong up front throughout finished third.
Greg Blount raced his way from a seventh place start to take fourth and Derk
Hauser moved up to take home fifth.
The 1-Man
Cruiser contests were all won by Cody Meyer tonight. Dave
Knauf grabbed the second spot in the feature race. Wayne
Dietz finished third and Tim Dickman fourth.

Saturday June 4th is The Merle Weinfurter Memorial sponsored by TJs Auto
and 8th Street Auto of WI Rapids. $2.00
off coupons available for grandstand admission. Pits
open at 3:30, stands 5 p.m., qualifying 6 p.m. and racing 7:30. Race divisions include Super Late Models, Super
Stocks, 4-Cylinders, and 1-Man Cruisers. Extra
purse money will also be paid. $800 to win Super Late Model feature with $150 to
start. Super Stocks pay $200 to win, $150 for
second, $125 for third. The 4-Cylinder
division also pays extra with $100 to the winner, $80 for second and $75 for third. Rain dated for Sunday, June 5th, two
hours earlier.
Marshfield
Super Speedway is located 3.5 miles west of Marshfield on County Road H with weekly
Saturday night stock car racing April through September.
Adult grandstand admission $10.00, Students ages 10-15 yrs. $5.00 and under
