Eve of Destruction Mayhem
at Marshfield

Marshfield, WI: - The WDEZ 101.9FM Eve of Destruction,
the first of two this season, began the evening with the bus
racing. Chad Krueger was the fastest school bus on the speedway
for qualifying, beating out the other seven buses competing.
Next was a warm up show by X-Treme Motocross Stunt
Rider Jason Hammrick. He started off the evening with some
smaller stunts, warming up the crowd for his second show that
followed the burn out contest. His second show he was able
increase the complexity of his stunts, which pleased the crowd
even more as his stunts were bigger and bigger.
The WDEZ DJ Race was won by Paul Litza, Carson picked up second,
Lee Peak third and Josh in fourth.
The burn out contest was won by Jason Teatz of Marshfield in
his1998 Chevy Camaro. He did have some competition from Tim
Hindman of Mosinee in his 1975 Nova, Randy Luedke of Mosinee in
his 2000 Mustang and Steve Konrardy of Marshfield in his 1997
Z28 Camaro.
A lot of stiff competition in the tire race. Several laps on the
½ mile, a couple on the ¼ mile and then more action on the front
stretch. Matt Kizewski of Mosinee was able to protect his tire
while removing that of his opponents’. Kizewski won with his
#505 machine sponsored by Hilltop Auto.
Four Forward/Backward heat races with the top two from each heat
advancing to the feature race. The competitors had to race one
lap forwards, left hand turns around the speedway, then cross
the start finish line with all four tires, put the car in
reverse and complete one more lap. Quintin Schwarze of Stratford
picked up his first win of three for the night in his green and
silver #14 sponsored by California Dreams Custom Hot Rod Shop.
The pyro team not only hosted the finale of the evening, but
they blew up Rodney’s limo! The fans watched as they in several
sequences total demolished the remains of the limo.
Four heats of the 2nd Over The Line race brought out the final
contestants for the feature. The races were all ran on the ¼
mile with the second and third place finishers advancing.

Three heats of the Spin To Win races where the racers completed
one lap, made a 360 turn and then made another lap. Larry
Draeger of Marathon advanced from his heat to win the feature
race.
Three heats of Relay race teams took the track with the team of
Ryan VanDerLeest and Quintin Schwarze winning the feature.
Joe Sazama of Eldoron won the trailer race as he was the only
vehicle still moving and with a trailer at the end.
The night ended with a July 4th celebration of fireworks by the
Specialty Fireworks team.

Racing includes CarQuest Super Late Models, CarQuest Super
Stocks, 4-Cylinders, 1-Man Cruisers, Junkyard Warriors and Pure
Stocks. Adult grandstand admission (16 yrs and older) $10.00,
Students (10 yrs thru 15 yrs) $5.00, Kids (9yrs and younger)
FREE. Pit gates open at 3:30, practice at 4:30, grandstand gates
open at 5 p.m., time trials at 5:30 and racing at 7 p.m. Rain
dated for Sunday, two hours earlier. Marshfield Super Speedway
is located 3.5 miles west of Marshfield on County Road H.
